An afternoon of Valentine’s-themed bingo proved a hit with students at Warrington Collegiate, with more than £70 raised towards an enrichment activity for the College’s ACE students.
It was eyes down in the Board Room for dozens of students taking part, with prizes including chocolates, teddy bears and gift sets.
There was also a raffle and a ‘Guess The Sweet Jar’, all organised and run by students studying on the ACE (Adult Community Employment) course, with Tom McCauley and Gemma Howes hosting the event.
Sara Shaw, Curriculum Coordinator for Employability and ESOL, said: “It was an absolutely lovely afternoon. Everyone had a fantastic time and the ACE students raised £73 which they were very pleased with and are hoping to go on an enrichment trip with the money.
“The event was part of the ACE students’ Enterprise Unit – they had to do everything and came up with the idea themselves. Tom and Gemma did a fantastic job of hosting the event. Activities like this help our students to improve their confidence and gain experience in customer service.
“Thank you to all the staff and students that supported the event.”
ACE students are currently planning their next event, which will coincide with the Queen’s 90th birthday.
