Hollie and Louis take off with Jet2.com

Travel and aviation students Hollie Clayton and Louis Price are embarking on the adventure of a lifetime after gaining their wings from Jet2.com, making them fully fledged members of the airline’s cabin crew.

Hollie and Louis, who recently completed their level 3 course at Warrington & Vale Royal College, are the latest travel and tourism students to secure prestigious roles within the industry.

They received their wings at a special ceremony at the end of April, having spent four weeks undergoing rigorous training at Jet2’s headquarters at Leeds Bradford Airport.

Both have already taken to the air, with Hollie jetting off to Fuerteventura and Louis heading off to Tenerife.

18 year old Hollie, from Great Sankey, said: “It feels amazing to finally get our wings – it makes all of the hard work and the training worthwhile.”

The former Great Sankey High School pupil added: “This is my dream job and something that I have wanted since I was seven years old. To now actually be doing it is a dream come true. We get to travel the world as a job – it’s insane.”

Louis, a former Cardinal Newman Catholic High School pupil, added: “We could end up flying to New York, Cyprus, Spain, Rome – not knowing where we will end up makes it even more exciting. Getting this job is a dream come true for me and something I would never have been able to achieve was it not for my course and my tutors at Warrington & Vale Royal College.”

Hollie praised the college and her tutors for giving her the competitive edge when it came to the recruitment process both she and Louis had to face before securing their role in Jet2’s cabin crew.

She said: “We were asked questions and put in role-play situations. A lot of it related to confrontation which is something we had covered in great detail in college. The course definitely played a massive part in helping us to secure these amazing jobs – we can’t thank the college and our tutor Scott enough!”

Louis added: “If you are interested in a career in travel, tourism or aviation, definitely come to Warrington & Vale Royal College – you’ll learn everything you need to put you that step ahead of everyone else, and you’ll meet some fantastic people along the way.”
