Aspiring stage manager Andrea secures place at Backstage Academy

Aspiring stage manager Andrea Williams will be embarking on an adventure of a lifetime this September, with the opportunity of touring with the likes of Muse and Coldplay.

The 19 year old from Warrington discovered her passion for stage management whilst studying at Warrington & Vale Royal College.

Former Beamont Collegiate Academy pupil Andrea was able to spend much of her time on the performing arts course working alongside the college’s creative technician, helping with sound and lighting ahead of performances.

She will be continuing her studies at Backstage Academy in September after securing a place on their BA (Hons) Live Events Production course.

Andrea said: “I discovered I wanted to pursue a career in lighting and sound whilst studying at Warrington & Vale Royal College. I have absolutely loved my time here and I’ve had some fantastic opportunities as a result, including working with the college technician, Dave.

“I have learned so much during my time at the college that will really give me that competitive edge when I join Backstage Academy in September. I cannot wait to start this next step. I’ll be doing very similar things to what I have done at the college but for much bigger artists – there’s the opportunity to go on tour with Muse and Coldplay, and I’ll be working abroad at events like Ibiza Rocks – it’s so exciting!”
