GCSE exams are just around the corner, and your head is probably spinning with revision classes and exam dates. This can be a stressful time of year, especially if you haven’t decided on your next step after high school. Choosing your next step doesn’t need to be scary as there are so many exciting opportunities that lie ahead. So, put your revision book down for half and hour and take a look at what we’ve got to offer – you might be surprised!
Find a course
If you’re not sure what’s right for you, we’ve got lots of advice below.
To get you thinking about which course might be right for you, think about your favourite subject at school. If you enjoy art, you might be creative and would be suited to a course in art & design, graphic design, games design or performing arts. Do you prefer a classroom setting leading to an office-based career such as business, or are you a practical hands-on learner and would like a course that leads you into a career in the trades such as bricklaying. Perhaps you’re someone who does better in exams than assignments, or you may like working with people, so a course in childcare, health & social care or travel & tourism might be perfect for you.
But what if I don’t get the grades?
We pride ourselves on the accessibility of our courses. With a wide range of foundation learning courses, and courses with entry requirements starting at 4 GCSEs at grade 2 or above, you’re sure to find something that’s suitable for you. Find out more about the learning support we offer.
Is it all work and play?
Of course not! Our courses will stretch and challenge you to achieve your full potential, but you will have some down time alongside your studies. With our dedicated Enrichment Coordinator, you’ll have a wide range of exciting opportunities available, whether it’s mindful crafting that takes your fancy or high energy Clubbercise! You’ll also have the opportunity to go on trips and visits as part of your course to places such as Berlin, London and even New York. Visit our enrichment page to find out more!
Wait! How will I get there?
Easy! Our campuses are very accessible, with local bus and train routes just around the corner. What’s more, we offer FREE Arriva bus passes to our Winsford campus for anyone who lives more than 1 mile away. We also offer free buses to our Warrington campus, find out more and register for these services.
I’d quite like to start earning money straight away… do you offer apprenticeships?
Of course. We are one of the largest providers for apprenticeships in the North West, matching around 12 apprentices to vacancies per week! We offer apprenticeships in a range of fields such as accounting, business, childcare, engineering, hairdressing, joinery, plumbing and many more. Why not visit our apprenticeships page and take a peek at the exciting LIVE vacancies that we are currently recruiting for? Bare in mind, applying for an apprenticeship is essentially like applying for a job – somebody else might get it! So make sure to apply for a full time course as well to avoid disappointment.
What will happen once I’ve finished the course?
