16-18 Years Old

If you are leaving school and don't feel quite ready to start a college course, our foundation learning courses offer a stepping stone qualification to help you gain the required entry standards or to adjust to college life before accessing a full-time vocational course. As part of your course, you will have the opportunity to take part in valuable work experience, work towards English and maths qualifications, and take part in taster lessons in your chosen course area.

Meet our students

Elvis Enache FDL

Elvis Enache came to the college from Beamont Collegiate Academy, excited by the range of courses on offer and reassured by the college’s reputation that he would be fully supported in his educational journey. Since starting at the college, Elvis has managed to quickly develop his English skills, as well as building his confidence and discovering his dream career path as a motor mechanic during one of his curriculum experience days.

“I love it here. The team is always very helpful and supportive. I feel like they are as invested in my future and my career as I am.”

Luke Hart
I love coming to college and have made lots of new friends. I really enjoy studying IT and plan to work as an IT Engineer in the future. The tutors are exceptional and have helped me to improve my confidence massively to believe my dream job is possible.”
Luke Hart, current Entry 3 Vocational Studies student, decided to study at Warrington & Vale Royal College after attending one of our open evenings and feeling comfortable in such a supportive environment. Former Padgate Academy student, is now thriving on his course and says his confidence and motivation have improved massively.
