Energy Efficiency

This course covers the requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations and is designed for central heating installers that need to self-certificate their work via one of the Competent Persons Schemes (CPS). Applicants should be experienced installers of gas, oil or solid fuel domestic central heating systems.

What will you study?

This energy efficiency-training course is mainly focused on heating & hot water controls, insulation and energy saving for the home. After attending this course a plumber will be able to advise customers on the efficiency of their controls, confirm if their controls meet current standards and advise them if they need to upgrade.

You will also learn to correctly size replacement boilers and give advice to customers on how best to conserve their household energy.

You will learn about the Part L building regulations and this course will prepare you to self-certify your work. Gas Safe, The Energy Efficiency and Partnership will recognise your certification for Homes. This will increase the range of services that you can offer.
