At Warrington & Vale Royal College we are determined to secure our position as an outstanding college, becoming a leader in the sector.

Following the merger between Warrington Collegiate and Mid Cheshire College, Ofsted reported that ‘Leaders and managers have managed the recent merger well. The actions that are most successful are those where leaders and managers had effective strategies in place prior to the merger. These include, for example, safeguarding policies and practice, and learner behaviour’ (October 2018).

We are now seeking to appoint an experienced leader to cover the Director of Student Support’s maternity leave from March 2019. Working with the Principal, Executive Leadership Team and Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for all the holistic aspects of study programmes and take overall responsibility for the provision of excellent, professional and proactive student support services which ensure that students are safe, supported, resourced and are at the heart of the College decision making and continuous improvement process.

The post holder will also to be the Designated Safeguarding and Prevent lead for the College liaising with external agencies as required to ensure students are safe at all times and the College fulfils all statutory duties in this area, including ensuring staff are appropriately trained and equipped to respond to emerging issues.

Suitable applicants should have a successful track record in leading high performing teams and also have comprehensive knowledge and experience of safeguarding and learning support.

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Please note that it is college policy that referees of short-listed candidates will automatically be approached prior to interview. One reference should be from your current or most recent employer.

The College operates on 3 campuses – Warrington, Hartford and Winsford.
