This Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering is ideal for you if you wish to develop the skills and knowledge needed for engineering manufacturing including the ability to organise work, and to identify and prevent problems. This is a work-based qualification which will enhance your skills and experience in this industry.
You will study a variety of units such as performing engineering operations, research, design, new project development and production, engineering and manufacturing, and business improvement techniques.
Our aim is to create an individual learning plan to suit both the Apprentice and the employer's needs including: Observations, Assignments, Professional Discussions, Product Evidence and Witness Statements. Off the job learning will take a blended approach of Workshops, professional training, workplace tutorial, e-learning and distance learning.
Once the assessor, line manager and learner agree that the learner is competent, the learner will be submitted to the gateway for End Point Assessment (EPA). EPA consists of:
Project Presentation: The apprentice delivers a presentation to the EPAO on a project they have completed or a process they have improved. The presentation lasts 10-15 minutes, with a further 10-15 minutes for a Q&A session
Higher apprentices, with support and opportunities in the workplace, may progress onto university or the engineering sector.
You will be allocated a designated apprentice coach to guide you through your apprenticeship. We also have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if it is required and a welfare team that are on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed.
