If you're looking to start studying English, maybe to help a friend or relative with English work, or to learn the basic skills needed to progress on to further, more technical English courses, then this is the course for you. Improve your English will look at the basics of our language, helping you to improve your reading, writing and communication skills.
Improve your English is an entry level course where you will learn the basics of effective reading, writing and verbal communication. It also has stepping stones to Level 1 English if appropriate. If you've not studied English for a long period of time, or struggle with your reading and writing, this can be a perfect refresher course before you move on to more technical study. The course will introduce you to the basics of spelling, punctuation and grammar whilst also supporting you to become a more confident reader and communicator. It will also act as a 'bridge' to level 1 and then on to GCSE should you be interested to progress on to a GCSE English course.
There is no formal assessment for this course, however your tutor will provide short assessments throughout your learning.
Improve your English is our entry level course with stepping stones through to Level 1 embedded into the course. The progression route would be to attend GCSE when your tutor believes you are ready to make the next step.
