This course targets students who haven't done any mathematics for a while. It is for students who want to brush up their mathematics skills to enable them to go progress onto a GCSE Mathematics course the following year, or just to help them feel more confident when using this sometimes difficult subject.
You will be improving on are all areas of number concentrating on the rules of number, percentages, fractions and money. You will also be introduced to angles, shapes, measure and data handling.
There are no formal assessments but there will be opportunity to gain a Functional Skills Exam qualification if the tutor or student feels this the correct progression.

We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if it is required and a welfare team that are on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. There are no minimum entry requirements, it is for students who need to improve their maths skills and be in a position to enrol on a maths course to gain a qualification.
