The level 3 award is a short introductory course which prepares new entrants for teaching in the lifelong learning sector. If teaching, tutoring or training is part of your remit, you may be required to progress to a further qualification appropriate to your role.
The qualification covers the knowledge and skills required by teachers in the further education and skills sector such as:
You will be assessed through a variety of methods including practical and theoretical assignments. A micro teach assessment is also required.
Successful completion of this course allows progression to the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training or the Level 5 Certificate in Education and Training (subject to meeting additional entry criteria).
The teachers on the course have excellent links with industry professionals, and students will benefit from these partnerships

There are currently no additional costs associated with this course.
You should have a minimum of Level 3 qualification in your chosen teaching subject and ideally hold a level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (further guidance can be provided on enquiry). You are not required to have access to teaching hours for the Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
