College competition rewards GCSE students with fantastic prizes!

A competition organised by Warrington & Vale Royal College saw year 11 students across the Warrington & Vale Royal area win a range of fantastic prizes, including £300 worth of driving lessons!

In an attempt to boost morale amongst year 11 students sitting their GCSE examinations, the college delivered GCSE ‘Good Luck’ cards containing a unique competition code to its many applicants, with competition prizes including driving lessons, Beats headphones, Amazon Fire Tablets, Apple earphones and Love2Shop and Costa vouchers.

Lydia Crawshaw from The Winsford Academy won the top prize of £300 towards driving lessons. Lydia, who has applied to study Graphic Design at the college’s Winsford campus from September, commented: “It was really nice to receive a good luck card from the college – it gave me an extra boost of confidence. I was so surprised when I was told I’d won. I can’t wait to start driving lessons and my graphics course in September.”

The County High School Leftwich student, Imogen Davis, was the lucky winner of one of two Amazon Fire Tablets up for grabs. Imogen said: “I really never thought I’d win – I never win anything. It was such a great surprise to receive the good luck card the night before my GCSEs, and then to win is such a big surprise. I’m made up!” Imogen has applied to study Business Studies at the college’s Winsford campus from September.

Other lucky winners include Jake Watson from Weaverham High School, who won a pair of Beats headphones, and Elliott Duff from Warrington school Birchwood High won the second Amazon Fire Tablet.
